"Going The Distance"

Yeah yeah yeah! I won a pair of tickets from Nuffnang to Bugis Illuma's Filmgarde for the movie
"Going The Distance"!

The first time I participated in Nuffnang's event, I thought I was pretty honoured; not to mention seeing blogger queen, Xiaxue and her bestfriend, Kaykay was on the same row as us.

I doubt photography was allowed and I was a bit late for the event so I didn't manage to take much photos. If you followed my twitter, you would have known Noel was invited to this movie and thank you so much for reserving seats for us :D

Some post-movie thoughts..
This movie is a story about how a long distance relationship worked out. My stand of a long distance relationship is actually quite negative. Although distance makes the heart fonder, it is a harsh test of trust, loyalty and commitment.

My best friend is actually in the midst of a long distance relationship. Not exactly far but it takes a 4 hour flight with 6 hour car journey for this Malaysia location. She is still coping hard, bearing in mind the fact that reception is really bad over there. Your bills are gonna come in heavy at the end of the month and you have to miss your partner badly.

For me, I've never encountered a relationship out of Singapore. But when my partner leaves Singapore for a trip overseas, just ONE day.. ONE day is enough to torture me with all the emotional thoughts. How can I let my partner go elsewhere??

Well, it is a nice movie starring hot-as-ever Drew Barrymore of Charlie's Angel and charismatic Justin Long which might not be really appropriate for conservative Singaporeans(like my Mummy, HAHA) and the younger teenagers.

However, I admired how this couple gave in to each other to maintain this relationship. (Well after all, it's still tough for them to afford a US$1.7k ticket to meet each other during X'mas) How they meet was fate and being together at the end was destiny. There wasn't much sad scenes but the story was romantic and there were humour every other scene.

This movie is gonna be a great motivation to all couples in long distance relationship and also new couples who might not want to get get teary during the movie and end it with a happy ending(:

Nevertheless, I had a great time with Swing and much thanks to Nuffnang for the tickets and also Noel who wanted to bring us for supper but we left straight after the movie. Just to add on, I hate taking public transport. The bus journey was so horrible yet it's definitely better than a train journey home.

Thanks Swing (:

Mummy's Birthday

I think I'm gonna stay away from cakes, especially Coco Exotic which I had eaten 3 times this month. First is Grandma's birthday, second is Daddy's birthday and now my Mummy's birthday. August is gonna be the most busy month for my family. From 1st August, my sister's birthday to all the way my Mummy's birthday on 24th August. In between, it's Granny's, my maid's and my Daddy's. However, my point is Coco Exotic is my most favoured cake choice now; I don't want to get sick of it so early. Lol.

Alright, here's the links to the photos for my Mummy's birthday:

Busy August

** Updated:
A year back, a friend was telling me that she believed eating lots of ice cream would contribute to weight loss. I asked her why and she told me it's because eating too much ice cream causes diarrhea. Out of boredom, I ate 4-5 ice cream potongs and 1 magnum classic within 12 hours which included 5 hours of sleep. Before this post, I was stuck in the toilet for a whole 15 minutes of constipation. I'd just busted a myth. Lol.

*******************************************************

I had finally found my camera cable to upload all these photos. I had filtered these photos heavily so that all blur photos are disposed as much as possible. Well, I'm not the only one taking the camera so.. Maybe not everyone is able to use the camera effectively; not even myself. Ahem*

First up, Isabel with Guai Guai whose hair has obviously grown too much. Lol.

Next up, Granny's birthday home celebration with my family's first try of Four Leaves' Coco Exotic Cake. They loved it! Swing and Weiwen came too (:

Heh heh, show you an adorable picture of Gingin who is always camera-unfriendly. I have no idea how Sheridin managed to capture such an awesome shot :]

And then, it's Santi's birthday..

Next up, it's PAMELA's birthday! I'll upload this on facebook later on. I took hell long time to filter off those super blurred pictures and also those with super poor lightning, which I don't want to waste time photoshopping the brightness of the photo focus..

This girl was so touched, she teared! Here are the wonderful people who came down for her celebration (:

I hope you'd really enjoyed it very much (:

Lastly, MSC handover & farewell!

Some thoughts after MSC: I had a great time knowing more people, learning more operational procedures and cultivating self discipline. I'm not sure for the others, but I'm definite that I have an awesome Team 1!

Special loves to..
Jasmine - for being the one who always motivates and share thoughts with me. I missed the long train ride home where we keep alert for available seats after Yishun MRT.
HuiYun - for always listening to my rantings, after-shiftwork-eating moments and going crazy together
Joshua - for being such a good receiving partner and maintaining discipline in Team 1 (Lol!)
Faizal - for being such a good team member; does her things well and work well together to get things done.
Brandon - for being sucha good snack suggester (Lol?) I'm not gonna say a lot cuz' you didn't come for the last 2 days! Hmph! :]

Not forgetting wonderful Miss Ching, Miss Edwina Lim for guiding us in the operational issues and Miss Poo for the continuous motivations given. Everything learnt here has brought me to a higher level of operational skills and I believe it had gave me more in-depth experience of working life. Thank you so much everyone! :)
