Weekends alone

Let me start this post with a quote,
"If you show no interest to the happenings around this world, then, no one in the world will ever be interested in you."
I have gotten this phrase from 藍天蔚 (Mr Blue) of  犀利人妻 (Xi Li Ren Qi) and I find it very inspiring. I tried to recall how my life was when I backed out of all the happenings and toned down to be a workaholic. My life seemed bland until I came back to blog and when Swing and I ventured into our small business.

Swing has been in Bangkok since Friday and I had been having a hard time feeling emptiness in Singapore. Every minute passed like an hour. It was really bad on the first morning where I bought lots of food back from West Mall after tutoring my Korean student. I bought a chicken wing from Old Chang Kee and I got tempted by KFC's double down so I bought the Double Down Meal. Then I headed to Coffeebean to redeem a large Pure Chocolate ice blended from my Coffeebean Card that Maybank gave me after my first eVibes transaction.

Today, as I headed down to teach my Korean student, I was "welcomed" by this family of monkeys at the bus stop. There were around 5 or 6 of them.

It was drizzling and I do not dare move around the bus stop as they were all heading towards the rubbish bin. Some passer-bys helped me by shoo-ing them away from me and also from the road, as some of them decided to rest on the streets.

Just look at how destructive they are!

They dug everything out of the rubbish bin, tearing every trash apart. They also played among the trees and kept pulling branches of leaves down. This got me really frightened and my bus was still no where seen. Minutes later, two residents who came to the bus stop told me that they must be really hungry to come out of its comfortable forest to the streets to dig for food.

Awww, a sense of guilt came over me. We humans have been living too comfortably. Monkeys are just trying to look for food and they are harmless to that certain extent. Maybe it is advisable not to carry a plastic bag, to avoid being the monkey's prey.

After a whole afternoon of tuition, I ended up at Bukit Panjang Plaza to help my client buy an assessment for her child. I have been having this overwhelming feeling to go for a classic manicure and pedicure session since the start of this week. I even felt like going for a sumptuous dinner alone just now. This feeling is totally disturbing. Just as I stepped into a nail parlour and they quoted me $40 for Classic pedicure, I realised I was wearing covered shoes. Everything seemed so unorganised. To curb that uneasiness, I apologised to the staff and took the LRT home to watch Star Awards.

If you follow my tweets, you should know how disappointed I am from Star Awards. Hmm. I shall not go into it because the newspapers are sure to report about it since many on twitter had the same sentiments.

Anway, I had booked my Genting trip for May with Five Stars Tour again. I bought the similar deal that we got previously at $79 for 3D2N. But this time round, Swing and I have decided to extend one more night for $45 per room, so a 4D3N Genting trip will cost us $101.50 per pax with a deluxe room in First World Hotel!

We extended the trip also because Swing wants to ensure I try out Genting's Theme Park. Urgh. I managed to avoid the theme park trip previously by telling her I don't want to waste one day in the theme park :/ Now that we have 4D3N, I have no no more excuses :(

In early June, I'm also accompanying my Granny and Grand-aunty to go on a 3D2N trip to Cameron Highlands, Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh! Ipoh is so far from Singapore! A car drive takes around 6 hours? But I'm excited to explore Cameron Highlands and back to see other parts of Kuala Lumpur! I will sure do a blog entry for it!

It had been so long since I last wrote a wordy entry like this. Well, the sudden urge of writing (blogging) just had to attack me as I switched my netbook on.

Alright! I shall end with photos of Gingin accompanying Sheridin and I to sleep these days. You can find her on instagram at http://ink361.com/#/tag/tanjinting !

JCube again!

My Olympus camera is dead now because the zoom lens are damaged. I had no time to bring this baby down to get it repaired. So I'm using my Instagram photos :/

Swing and I had just replenished our box in Hako @ JCube with necklaces and rings. Lots of them. So get them before the designs go out of stock. It is still $5 each, buy 1 get 1 free :)

Swing had been telling me Thai Express have awesome Green Curry, after I told her I craved for Porn's Green Curry (http://zombieriddled.blogspot.com/2012/02/porns-sexy-thai-food.html). There is Thai Express at level 1 of JCube so we went in and ordered it with fish cakes.
I must say that the fish cakes are really delicious! It is slightly crispy and the paste feels like it is handmade from its soft texture. BUT.. The green curry was... (errr...) okay.

Then Swing explained that it tasted a little different. She recalled eating at West Mall which is obviously not ThaiExpress but Bali Thai. Omg, what a joke man. The dining experience was still pleasant except the fact that there were limited manpower.

Gonna try Bali Thai soon! Probably at IMM :)

Turning Point

I had been really busy with my new chapter of life; right after my completion of Diploma in Marketing in Nanyang Polytechnic. Graduation is going on on 21st May and I'm really excited to see my course mates. Whatever feuds we had, I still hope to see everyone there :)

I had been preserving my baby Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma where I bought in Taiwan's XiMenDing. I really don't bear to use them. I asked myself, should I hug them to sleep? And my OCD got awaken and I got reminded of how I may dirty them. Meh. Shall keep them in its packaging then!

Remember to support Rilakkuma Spree at

Actually.. I took up tuition assignments and I declared myself as a full time tutor..

Not exactly surprising to the people who were close with me before because I am a certified Speech & Drama and Creative Writing teacher. I had conducted preschool enrichment teaching in various childcare centers before I went to work in retail line and proceeded to NYP for my Diploma.

The turning point of my life was when I received an SMS for a tuition assignment for Primary 2 English and Mathematics while Swing and I were replenishing our merchandise at JCube. My primary school friends should know how crazy I am for problem sums, especially during the PSLE period where I completed more than what my tutor gave the rest of my class. Everything is clearly presented; models, workings, statements, equations.. Every week I had completed around 40 problem sums from my 3 hours of tuition per week.

I replied my details and the agency called me up to check a few details with me. Within minutes from the time she SMSed me, I was secured with that student and tuition lesson starts in two days' time.

After that, more assignments came and within 2 weeks, I have five tutees to date. Since my first assignment , I had conducted 13 tuition lessons over a period of 9 days(till today). Apart from 2 Singaporean tutees, I have an India tutee and two Korea tutees which made my tutoring experience very enriching as I learnt from them!

I had decided on this path because I don't want to let go of my plans to be an entrepreneur as soon as possible. I can still conduct private tuition and at the same time manage my business. Business plans and ideas had been invading me ever since Polytechnic life started. I need to settle down fast and start working on my dreams.

And business partner, Swing, who had been teaching Heuristic Mathematics for two years, is in favour of my  decision to be a full time private tutor.

More importantly, I can continue to blog and attend events freely.

As a private tutor, I enjoy guiding the kids to know what they have to know and I'm already starting to enjoy the satisfaction as my students understand my teaching and they apply it in their examinations.

" Teach a man how to fish than to feed him with one. "
I'm really satisfied with my life now because I find it very enriching to guide someone's life. I might not be a very intelligent student in the past but I know what we can do to score. I don't mind sharing this knowledge with more students. And I really love the fact that I have new friends now :) I want to impact someone's life.

[Ad] POSB 2+2 Mortgage Loan i

Hi everyone!

What are the topics that tai tais talk about? Play the video below:

Just a few days ago, I saw a news report informing me that..
"It will cost you $1 million to purchase a HDB Flat in years to come.."
As a Gen-Y, who will definitely be moving onto my own adult life in the few years to come. This message came as a big tornado to me. How am I gonna be able to support myself? To have a first hand flat via BTO, I need to ensure a legal marriage in Singapore and I might not get a chance to be selected, if not, I have to be above 35 years old if I remain single in the eyes of the law.

Chances are.. You will probably want a private property? Or if you are contented with life, a second hand HDB Flat, condo or semi-detached? Whatever it is..

Remember,

Most of us are not millionaires
who own so many cash on hand
to make a full payment
for our dream home.

WE
NEED
LOANS.

Don't be surprised. Our parents take up loans to pay for cars and flats. Credit card payment is a form of loan as well..

So,

Introducing you to..

"A groundbreaking & first in the market for product of its kind. Instead of the usual lock-in of interest rates right at the start of the term, POSB gives customers the option to secure a 2-year fixed rate of 1.38% p.a and an option to extend it further for another 2 years or to go on with the prevailing floating rate (market rate) without a penalty."
Just take a look at these two possible scenarios:

Scenario 1: Rising rate environment

Scenario 2: Falling rate environment

POSB 2+2 Mortgage Loan (I repeat) allows you to choose your loan payment!
Why not?

This loan is perfect for people who are..
Are worried about rising interest rates
Likes stability and fixed rates
Do not want to be consigned to higher rates if market rate falls
Are looking for short term fixed rates
Foresee change in household needs in the next couple of years
Are looking for the most empowering rates in town

#guaiguai on Instagram!

This blogpost is dedicated to Guai Guai. Contents after pictures :)

Find her on instagram under #guaiguai !

Guai is an interesting dog. She is a Pom-mix (Mixed breeds of Pomeranian and Shih Tzu) and this is a designer breed named, Shiranian. (Source: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/shiranian.htm) She is around five years old and has well-blend distinctive characters of both breeds' genes.

Like a Pomeranian, she has powerful hind legs; she jumps pretty high enough for you to carry her without much effort to bend down. She also has Pomeranian's' fast ability to learn tricks and commands and barks very often.

Like a Shih Tzu, her thick fur feels soft and smooth despite the flurry-ness of a Pomeranian. And most importantly, she is stubborn and firm which contradicts with her learning ability as Shih Tzu is one of the most stubborn dogs to learn tricks and commands.

What is unique about Guai is that, she is a righteous dog hero. When she sees anyone being attacked, be he/she someone she don't know or don't like or even if he/she is her leader, she will bark really loudly and bite the attacker until the situation is being toned down. After that, if the attacked cries, she will go over to lick the victim and sits down near.

So, find her at instagram if you think she is cute and like her photos!

Teck Whye Playground

Recently, Teck Whye Garden playground had a revamp of its play area. Now, it is segmented into 3 areas, for kids where there is a small scale playground, for teenagers where there is this SkyBuilder(1st picture from left) and lastly an exercise corner meant for elderly.

I played on the SkyBuilder(1st picture from left) with Swing that day and it is really fun! The slides were pretty steep and my denim shorts created so much friction that I had a bumpy slide down, haha :D

Earlier this late evening, Swing was experiencing a headache so I suggested to go to Teck Whye Garden for a stroll and we started playing hop-scotch! I keep falling down because I couldn't balance :/

It's fun thou! Check it out :)
