TungLok Seafood Ala Carte Lunch Buffet

That long August weekend for Hari Raya and National Day, was a feasting weekend for me. Oh my tian, the amount of good food that I ate.. Haha!

My family went to Soup Restaurant for dinner on Hari Raya but they only serve pre-arranged National Day menu :( So we didn't really take a lot of photos, we were kinda late too.

On National Day itself, which was that late morning after the Soup Restaurant feast, my family went to Tung Lok Seafood at Upper Jurong for their Ala-Carte Lunch Buffet.

Excited!

This is the deal, the final cost of each pax is less than $50 but the amount of food and the variety is really worth it. Each person gets to enjoy two pieces of huge sambal clams and a small pot of "Buddha Jumps Over Wall" soup - an expensive Chinese soup with expensive ingredients of abalone and herbs.

This is the soup:

And these huge sambal clams:

These are SOME of the dishes we ordered!
(missed out some dishes like Gyoza, Salmon Sashimi, sushi etc.)

From top (clockwise down):

BBQ World Korean Restaurant

Lucky me! Lovely Zhou Jia and Swing planned to go BBQ World Korean restaurant for my advanced birthday celebration in early June :)

This is not my first time having Korean BBQ but this is my first Korean BBQ buffet experience. I must say this is a good choice for gatherings and catch-ups because we can spend a longer time here. It is up to 5 diners to one BBQ tray:

It is not an ala-carte styled buffet. So basically, take all you want :D

Lovely Rachel was helping us with all the grilling and application of various sauces.

And I was presented with this 3 lovely cupcakes!

Wonderful people who stayed through more than a decade of my life:

My Zhou Family got me a Birkenstock sandals and I'm so delighted because I lost mine because some thief decided to steal it when I accidentally left it outside my house before going for work. It was only 2 months old and pondered over getting a new one. Thank you so much!

Moving on from our happening adolescent years, we are on track to moving forward to our dreams. We might be at different stages now but I'm glad and I know we will always be each other's motivation and encouragement to go through tough times. Embrace the changes and soon, we will be cheering for our accomplishments and success. Press on!

Manna Story JCube

The thing about wanting to savour a particular cuisine in most countries is that you would probably need to travel to shophouses or places that are not exactly public transport-friendly.

In June, Swing and I have been wanting to try some Korean cuisine at a really convenient location. I searched a few food review sites and found Manna Story at JCube.

I am aware of this restaurant but I had never known that it sells Korean cuisine. My impression of it was it has a cottage-feel kinda cafe. Now that it is at a familiar location - right opposite Hako, where I used to sell my rings at, we have decided to check it out.

This was a shock to me. I have seen places that serves around 4-5 small Korean dishes (ban-chan) but it was my first time seeing such a variety of dishes. Most importantly, you can re-fill your favourites yourself at a small corner of the restaurant. Their dishes were fresh during this experience :)

Swing ordered chicken on hot plate,

while I order Bibimbap in Hot Stone.

We ordered a Spring Onion Pancake as well.

Our seats were overlooking The Rink :)

I did not state any prices because we took the lunch offer. I have always preferred to dine in during lunch where there is lesser people around and there are attractive lunch menus around :)

Xoxo.
