"Going The Distance"

Yeah yeah yeah! I won a pair of tickets from Nuffnang to Bugis Illuma's Filmgarde for the movie
"Going The Distance"!

The first time I participated in Nuffnang's event, I thought I was pretty honoured; not to mention seeing blogger queen, Xiaxue and her bestfriend, Kaykay was on the same row as us.

I doubt photography was allowed and I was a bit late for the event so I didn't manage to take much photos. If you followed my twitter, you would have known Noel was invited to this movie and thank you so much for reserving seats for us :D

Some post-movie thoughts..
This movie is a story about how a long distance relationship worked out. My stand of a long distance relationship is actually quite negative. Although distance makes the heart fonder, it is a harsh test of trust, loyalty and commitment.

My best friend is actually in the midst of a long distance relationship. Not exactly far but it takes a 4 hour flight with 6 hour car journey for this Malaysia location. She is still coping hard, bearing in mind the fact that reception is really bad over there. Your bills are gonna come in heavy at the end of the month and you have to miss your partner badly.

For me, I've never encountered a relationship out of Singapore. But when my partner leaves Singapore for a trip overseas, just ONE day.. ONE day is enough to torture me with all the emotional thoughts. How can I let my partner go elsewhere??

Well, it is a nice movie starring hot-as-ever Drew Barrymore of Charlie's Angel and charismatic Justin Long which might not be really appropriate for conservative Singaporeans(like my Mummy, HAHA) and the younger teenagers.

However, I admired how this couple gave in to each other to maintain this relationship. (Well after all, it's still tough for them to afford a US$1.7k ticket to meet each other during X'mas) How they meet was fate and being together at the end was destiny. There wasn't much sad scenes but the story was romantic and there were humour every other scene.

This movie is gonna be a great motivation to all couples in long distance relationship and also new couples who might not want to get get teary during the movie and end it with a happy ending(:

Nevertheless, I had a great time with Swing and much thanks to Nuffnang for the tickets and also Noel who wanted to bring us for supper but we left straight after the movie. Just to add on, I hate taking public transport. The bus journey was so horrible yet it's definitely better than a train journey home.

Thanks Swing (:
