Rachbake by Rachel!

Ordered some X'mas cookies as Xmas gifts from Rachbake by Rachel!
Packed in decorated X'mas cookie jars!

The jar is not heavy and the amount of cookies is great as gifts for family and friends; especially during this cheery festive season plus the jar comes decorated because Rachel is a scrapbooking-kind-of person! You can consult and discuss suitable decoration!

I ordered X'mas chocolate cookies and my favourite Pistachios cookies! I hate dry cookies a lot because it makes my throat sore and I have to soothe my throat with water while eating. Nuts are definitely a healthier option and most importantly, it has the texture of my favourite peanut cake!

You may search on instagram with #rachbake (http://ink361.com/#!/tag/rachbake) to see what Rachel offer on Rachbake :)

Dim Sum Buffet @ Ban Heng Pavilion Restaurant

This morning, Mummy, my sisters, Swing and I headed to Harbour Front centre for Dim Sum lunch buffet where my Mummy's friends brought her here recently. It is accessible by the Harbour Front centre carpark level 4. It looks like the traditional kind of chinese restuarant so the whole restaurant is really huge.

Mummy thought the price was quite reasonable, adult price is $14.90++.
Our total bill came up to $95.95 for 5 person, which is around $19.20 per pax.

It is ala carte style buffet dim sum where you order and they prepare for you. They also provide a corner where you can get some small dishes like Corn Pork Rib Soup, Lemon Jelly Dessert.. My favourite are shown below:

Century Egg Pork Congee:

Cream of Mango dessert:

Yeah, we ordered lots of fried dimsum!

I wouldn't say the food is bad but I wouldn't say the food is really delicious. However, it is a rather reasonably priced dim sum buffet for a convenient location. Give it a try :)

What's up with the Mayan Calendar?

Before I did my search about Mayan Calendar, my only knowledge was based on the movie, 2012. "Earth Crust Displacement", "Volcanic Yellowstone National Park", "Tibet's high mountain",fall of California", "burning Hawaii"..

How did this end-of-the-year myth came about?

A simple brief here:

The Mayans, who were great Mathematicians, created Mayan calendar and the days that the calendar recorded was till 21.12.2012. There are rumors that on this date, the planets will align, the Sun will release this radiation that causes the earth's core to melt, resulting in the earth crust free to move around. North pole will become South pole and there will be disaster everywhere because the poles' ice bergs will melt and flood the world, the movement of the plates will cause cracks and there will be volcanic eruptions, buildings will crash and mankind will be endangered.

As we move towards this date, the myth gradually lost its credibility, there were news that suggest that no disaster will happen but Earth will enter into complete darkness for 3 hours..

To get the best and reliable source, read up on NASA's report on the web publications and on YouTube.

Just because the Mayans didn't calculate the calendar further, Earth was meant to perish?

If you do not wish for it to happen, DON'T ANTICIPATE IT! Why do you want to attract all these negative thoughts, making you feel uneasy all the time? Think of how you are gonna celebrate the arrival of 2013, what are your achievements in years to come?

I would understand why Earth deserves to end now. We humans, don't appreciate all the love that Mother Nature has provided for us. So learn to cherish all that we have, love and care for each other more. If we continue to be selfish, so will our Earth.

Lets discuss on 22nd December 2012 then!

One post updates all!

Finally, my students' end of year exams were over! But that meant lesser income for November because most of my students would want a short break. Now, I'm back in the busy December preparing them for next year's syllabus.

Here are some of my happenings during these months:

Yun Yun's birthday celebration ♥
The Zhous met up Yunyun at Plaza Singapura for her birthday celebration. Thanks for the treat at Cafe Cartel! I have forgotten that I bought my camera along until we went to the washroom before heading home. That explains these two similar photographs.

We also talked about a January Genting trip together! Getting tickets soon! :)

 IKEA with Family ♥
Recently, my dad borrowed an electric drill from Swing's dad and we had quite many drillings to occupy my dad's satisfaction. He just love to use the electric drill, now he has tons of furniture he intends to drill and IKEA has officially become his favourite shopping destination. He will always say,"This one easy la, can drill one, very fast somemore!"

Saizeriya Ristorante E Caffe ♥
At Bukit Timah Plaza

I accompanied my Korean student to Bukit Timah Plaza's Popular book to get some assessment books the other day. We decided to lunch together and I thought it should be my treat so she brought me to her favourite dining place with her family!

I just love Carbonara too much! If Carbonara is in the menu, most of the time other delicacies doesn't matter much! So we got the same meal at $7.90 nett, inclusive of a salad (very fresh!) and free flow of drinks!
Despite located at a far corner, this place was flooded at 12noon with Ngee Ann and SIM students. Not bad, will consider to go again but that is if I happen to go Bukit Timah Plaza which patronisers are generally foreigners or the nearby residents.

BabyWeiwen's birthday ♥

Four years old already!

This girl have grown much more cheeky and full of ideas!
Trying to be serious when making her wish..
Blew her candle which reminded me of how she blew my birthday candle for my 20th :p

Celebrating birthdays with family is the best thing ever.

Pelangi Leisure Mall ♥
5 minutes drive from Malaysia custom

My mum decided to go Giant at Pelangi Leisure Mall because there are 5 girls in my household that requires Sanitary pads monthly. My mum is so reluctant to buy in Singapore because of the price difference in Malaysia and also because of a particular brand that is not sold in Singapore, Libresse.

No local distributors want to carry? It is sold in many Western countries and I love the comfortness and design which always prevented me from staining my bottoms! Libresse is often out of stock at the shelves in Malaysia, so we were actually keeping our fingers crossed. Luckily, they replenished not long ago and my mum bought around 3 months of supply. Haha!

Of course, we bought other products as well like soya sauce, snacks and unfried keropok. Somehow, their keropok is much tastier especially when you fry it yourself. Yummy!

Lovely gifts from Rachel ♥
I have been meeting up with Rachel rather often and my friendship did get much stronger. After 13 years of friendship, both of us have grown much more mature and often have similar mindsets encourage each other to set goals well, work towards it and achieve. She was the first to present me Christmas gifts(bottom right) and also some souvenirs from her recent family trip to Taiwan! She has been embarked on her pastry business and you can see her yummy moist pistachios cookies! I will do up a blog entry about her rachbake which you can also search #rachbakeon instagram: http://ink361.com/#!/tag/rachbake

Omocha Addiction ♥
Two of my lovely students stay along Choa Chu Kang Crescent and during this rainy season, I'm often strolling around Yew Tee Point and the Rilakkuma prizes at Omocha are just too tempting! Swing and I have only spent $15 so far and I can say we are really lucky!

Christmas Gift for myself ♥
TwI got myself an iPhone 5 since Singtel informed me of a $100 voucher if I re-contract by that weekend. Gotta take good care of it since it is white! I'm planning to be more productive by next year so if I really continue to be hardworking, then I will buy myself an iPad mini which will aid a lot in my tuition classes and my social media needs :D

Delayed post

I have not been updating this space since July and it is mainly because of my tuition assignments. I have stopped dressing up and stopped putting on make-up. My cosmetics look rather dusty now. Luckily, I have managed to catch Watson's private members sale last Wednesday and managed to stock up some of dying cosmetic products.

I have been shopping online as well and it is so unlike me. Those were the days I wondered why people can spend hours browsing through online catalogues and spending tonnes of money on online shopping. Well, online shopping found a way to me. Now I browse almost everyday but I restrict my spendings quite a lot so I guess it's still a healthy activity for me.

End of year examinations for primary school are finally over and I finally have some time for myself. It's probably gonna be more busy for me in 2013 as I'm considering a degree in University of Birmingham. Mostly importantly, I do not wish to give up tutoring and the academic timetable is very consistent and will only occupy the early half of my day.

I love what I'm doing now; a working hard and worrying for my students together with their parents. Haha :D Somehow this experience is very comforting to me. I have gradually appreciating things around me.

Some of the events that happened during this period:

♥ Changi Airport Trips

During Babysis' school vacation, she had three overseas trip - Cambodia for volunteering work, Switzerland for exchange programme and Bangkok for a shopping trip with my Mum. Our family made six trips to Changi Airport over a month. The boring fact was that all arrivals and departures were at Terminal One! I personally love the layout of Terminal Three and not forgetting the long slide. My bad!

♥ Zhous' Picnic
The Zhous had a late night potluck gathering at Marina Barrage. It was also an advanced farewell for Mon who had already moved out last month. I'm aware I looked horrible after all the packed-tuition assignments - my hair was so messy and I didn't even dress up. It was a memorable night though :)

♥ Joycelyn's Solemnisation
This is the first time I attended my friend's solemnisation and I am so happy for her! Knowing her since kindergarden, to career life and now she is building up her family life! Cheers!

♥ Meet up with JoyJoy
Swing and I haven't been meeting up Ming and JoyJoy because of our hectic schedules and finally we met up! We had a great dinner at KungFu Paradise! Joy Joy is such a pose-ready photogenic girl!

♥ My Hair
Oh, finally.. after so long, I have rebonded my hair! It is looking pretty flat now :/
